A 59 year old man from North Carolina with no criminal record held up a bank for $1, because he wanted to go to prison to receive healthcare!

James Verone robbed the RBC Bank in North Carolina in 2011 for $1. He’d never had any trouble with the law before the robbery. He was unemployed and dealing with severe health issues. He walked into the bank and handed the teller a note that said “This is a bank robbery. Please give me $1.” Then, he just sat in the bank lobby and waited for the police to arrive. The poor guy didn’t have any health care and at 59 years old was in bad health. He had a growth on his chest, two ruptured disks, and a problem with his left foot. Verone said he committed the crime, because he thought prison would be the best place for him to get medical attention. He made sure to make it known that he robbed the bank for medical reasons, not monetary ones. He didn’t use a weapon during the robbery and hoped to get three years in prison and receive continued medical help. culled from OMG FACT....follow @mchenrygenius
