Justin Bieber is the Artist of the Year (A.M.A 2012)

At the 40th annual American Music Awards on Sunday evening, Justin Bieber was the artist to watch. The 18-year-old heartthrob won three awards including the prized Artist of the Year. He also took home the honors of Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist and Favorite Pop/Rock Album. So what’s next on Bieber’s agenda? Based on his AMA achievements, the sky is the limit for him.

Justin was awarded first with Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist of the Year, beating out Flo Rida, Pitbull, and good friend and mentor Usher. Bieber used his acceptance speech as an opportunity to shout out to his “nonbeliebers.”

“I want to say this is for all the haters who thought that I was just here for one or two years. I feel like I'm going to be here for a very long time” he said confidently.

Bieber had two performances of the evening. His first was an acoustic version of his hit “As Long As You Love Me” followed later by a lively number of “Beauty and a Beat” alongside another AMA winner, Nicki Minaj.
